2. It is the junction for onward travel
Buses from Ujjain, Indore, Dewas and Bhopal pass through or terminate at Agar. If you are travelling by bus, you will almost certainly change here. It also has the nearest district hospital, which matters if you are travelling with elderly pilgrims.
